2020 — Communication project carried out with Arthur Van Der Werf, Ivana Riva, Maria del Pilar Suarez Anzorena, Yueling Wu, Noura Sammoura.
Goal: to inform people about the existence of deepfakes and provide them with tools to
recognize them.
The project was selected to be exhibited at The Glass Room exhibition.
In today's world, it's becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish fake news from real news.
Technological progress provides ever simpler and more powerful tools to alter reality, the latest among these
being the technology that allows the creation of deepfakes. Based on deep learning, it
enables the replacement of one face within a video with another completely
arbitrary face, in an incredibly realistic manner.
Our team set the goal of enabling people to identify and recognize
such manipulations, providing them with tools. The idea translated into a website containing a series of
examples created by us and sourced from the Internet, which when combined reveal the tricks behind
this almost "magical" process, making it understandable and less mysterious.
In this project, in addition to designing the experience, I also took care of the
study of the technology and generation of deepfakes, and the creation of the website.
